Synergy Spanish is a Spanish teaching program which claims to help you learn basic Spanish with only 138 words you have to learn. Is it any good?
Their claim is, in my opinion, a bit exaggerated. Yes, you can have basic Spanish conversation with only a handful of words but we all know that words are not the only thing you have to learn to use a language (at least if do not want to sound like Tarzan: “Me Tarzan, You Jane.”).
But the truth be told, also the authors of the Synergy Spanish course are aware of that and quite frankly the promise in their promotional text is there just to get your attention.
While this Spanish language course is not as extensive as some of the others on the market (and reviewed on this site) it certainly offers enough material to help you get to the level of basic knowledge of Spanish language, which will enable you to get by in everyday situations and give you foundation for further learning.

The Synergy Spanish course provides language learning, audio lessons and, unlike other similar programs, the author also promises his personal help and guidance by e-mail. One of their promises also strikes me as a bit weird at first: “No boring grammar rules, no tedious lists, no silly games.” But what they’re trying to say here is that the course will focus largely on learning conversational Spanish in as little time as possible, and will not bore you with grammar rules that are unneccesary at this level of learning Spanish.
